The SuperCube Walls study is looking into periodic planar arrangements of SuperCube modules. The four-cube block extends into wall configurations by systematic repetition and the presence of voids.
Grid patterns with alternating rotations produce consistent spacing. The rotated cubes can be replaced by the voids, which are corresponding configurations for each of them. Consequently, continuous surfaces are created, where the faces are merging into unified planes. This way, wall structures that maintain their geometric coherence are created, while the relationship between solid and empty is varied.
Different periodic arrangements are tested for suitability in planar applications. The four-cube block is the repeating element; it translates horizontally and vertically to form grid patterns. SuperCube interlocking logic adapts itself into the wall and facade systems and retains its geometric properties of the module.
