Work following the SuperCubeSphere led me to take a broader look at Buckminster Fuller's quanta modules. I found that different spatial arrangements of the tetrahedral geometries within polyhedral symmetry groups gave rise to a variety of new configurations. The A-QuantaMill is one such configuration, an octahedral arrangement of the pyramidal quanta shape.
Research:
Fuller's definitions of quanta modules involve placing tetrahedral geometries in polyhedral symmetry groups. Each assignment produces a specific spatial configuration; the A-QuantaMill configuration is octahedral. The process is systematic over symmetry groups and tetrahedral placements, with the goal of mapping which of the arrangements are stable and geometrically coherent.
