"Probability of conscious gravitation" investigates compound polyhedra-all possible ways the five Platonic solids nest within each other. The installation presents these arrangements vertically stacked, each scaled by the golden ratio relative to its neighbors. This systematic exploration exhausts the combinatorial possibilities: tetrahedra within cubes, octahedra encompassing dodecahedra, and every permutation between. The golden ratio scaling creates harmonic proportions throughout the vertical composition. Each compound represents a discrete geometric probability within the finite set of Platonic relationships. The work makes tangible the mathematical concept of exhaustive enumeration-displaying all possibilities simultaneously rather than selecting singular solutions.
Research: The work systematically explores compound polyhedra-configurations where multiple Platonic solids share a common center. This includes classical inscriptions (tetrahedron within cube, octahedron within tetrahedron) and more complex interpenetrations. Each Platonic solid can be inscribed in or circumscribed about others through specific mathematical relationships. The golden ratio scaling between layers creates harmonic proportions while maintaining the precise angular relationships required for proper nesting. The exhaustive enumeration presents all mathematically valid combinations, from simple dual pairs to complex multi-solid compounds.
